Introduction to the Summer Internship Program
The Summer Data Analytics Internship Program at Eigen X provides students with hands-on experience working with real-world data, business challenges, and cross-functional projects. Throughout the program, interns develop technical and professional skills by analyzing datasets, creating visualizations, building dashboards, supporting marketing initiatives, and presenting insights that drive data-informed decision-making.
Using industry tools such as Tableau, Tableau Prep, and Figma, along with other analytics and data management technologies, interns gain practical experience in data preparation, reporting, visualization, and foundational data engineering processes. Participants may assist with data integration, data quality improvement, workflow automation, and the development of data pipelines that support business operations and analytics initiatives.
In addition to technical development, interns contribute to marketing and business development efforts by helping create weekly LinkedIn update posts, promotional materials, market research analyses, blogs, and company videos. The program also emphasizes collaboration, communication, and problem-solving through team projects, mentorship opportunities, and exposure to real-world client engagements.
The internship offers participants the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a professional setting while gaining valuable experience in data analytics, data engineering, marketing support, and business intelligence, providing a well-rounded foundation for careers in data and technology.
Meet the Interns
This year Eigen X has four interns on our analytics team – Ryan, May, Sheryas, and Mrudula – and one intern on our Salesforce team, Brynn.
Intern Q&A
To understand what makes Eigen X’s internship unique, I asked the current interns a few questions about their experience so far.
Ryan’s Thoughts
For me, what I like most about working at Eigen X is the culture and work environment. From my first day, I felt welcomed by a team that is supportive, collaborative, and genuinely invested in each other's success. Everyone is willing to help, share knowledge, and work together to solve problems, which creates a very positive atmosphere. What stands out most is the strong sense of teamwork and mutual respect throughout the organization. It's clear that employees value one another and contribute to a culture where people can learn, grow, and do their best work. After experiencing it firsthand, it's easy to understand why Eigen X has been recognized as one of Philadelphia's Best Places to Work.
May’s Thoughts
May, who is currently in her second summer of interning at Eigen X, spoke to her advice to future interns and what she has liked best about working at Eigen X so far.
What advice would you give future interns?
“Join as many different areas / projects as you can so you're able to learn as many different parts of a business as possible. This will only help expand your knowledge and experience and will get you a closer idea on what you want to do post grad.”
What has been the best part of the internship thus far?
“This internship has helped me strengthen my ability to work with a variety of tools and technologies while exploring areas I am passionate about, such as data engineering and AI integration. One project I am especially proud of is the one I am currently building during my internship. I am involved in the entire process from designing and developing data pipelines to creating wireframes and ultimately transforming data into meaningful visualizations. Being able to contribute to an end-to-end solution has been an incredible learning experience, and the skills I am gaining throughout the project have been both motivating and rewarding.”
Shreyas’ Thoughts
I asked Shreyas, our youngest intern, why he decided to apply for an internship at Eigen X right after his first year of college and how the internship has impacted him.
What inspired you to apply for this internship at Eigen X?
“I wanted to learn more about data engineering in hands-on environment while also gaining experience and exposure to the consulting world.”
How have you enjoyed working here so far?
“I have enjoyed the people in the office and how helpful everyone has been getting accommodated to a new environment. Also, the project that I am working on is very enjoyable.”
Brynn’s Thoughts
Brynn, who has worked several summers at Eigen X, spoke to her experience of Eigen X’s culture and what she has enjoyed throughout her time at Eigen X.
What do you enjoy the most during your time here?
“One thing I enjoy most is the opportunity to combine communication and creativity with technology while continuing to develop new skills.”
Mrudula’s Thoughts
In her previous career, Mrudula found a passion for data and decided to pursue a career in data by earning a master’s degree. I asked Mrudula about how this internship has shaped her new career path.
How has this internship influenced your career goals?
“This internship has helped me strengthen my ability to work with a variety of tools and technologies while exploring areas I am passionate about, such as data engineering and AI integration. One project I am especially proud of is the one I am currently building during my internship. Common Themes
After speaking with my fellow interns, a few common themes stood out. We have all appreciated Eigen X's welcoming and collaborative culture, as well as the support we've received from team members across the company. Another shared experience has been the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that allow us to develop both technical and professional skills. Most importantly, this internship has given us valuable exposure to real-world consulting work while helping us explore and refine our career interests.
