Eigen X + Tableau Next

Tableau Next is Salesforce’s next-generation analytics platform that merges Tableau’s industry-leading visual analytics with powerful AI from Agentforce. Built on a flexible, API-first Salesforce architecture, Tableau Next delivers personalized, contextual, and actionable insights directly in the flow of work. It unifies connectivity, data prep, semantic modeling, visualizations, and AI agents in a single modern workspace designed for both creators and consumers.

How Tableau Next Works

Bring together data in Salesforce Data 360 and turn it into meaningful insights with Tableau Next. Data from warehouses, files, and operational systems flows in through zero-copy sharing, MuleSoft, and Tableau Prep, then is standardized inside Data 360 using Data Lake Objects and Data Model Objects. Tableau Semantics enriches that unified data that creates reusable metadata, data marts, and machine-learning-ready assets. Tableau Cloud, Tableau Server, Tableau Pulse, and Tableau Next then transform these modeled datasets into interactive analytics and automated actions directly inside Salesforce.

Tableau Next vs. Tableau Cloud/Server vs. CRMA

  • Tableau Next

Tableau Next is the new analytics platform from Salesforce that brings data preparation, modeling, visualization, and artificial intelligence into one modern workspace. It uses three intelligent agents to support automated insights, natural language questions, and real time monitoring. It also connects directly with Data 360 and the Tableau semantic layer, making it a strong choice for organizations moving toward advanced analytics.

    Key Points

    • Artificial intelligence driven insights and natural language analysis

    • Unified semantic layer and direct Data Cloud connection

    • Flexible architecture that is easy to embed and scale

  • Tableau Cloud & Server

Tableau Cloud and Tableau Server offer powerful dashboard creation and visual analysis in an independent environment hosted by Tableau or on site. They remain strong business intelligence tools but do not include Data 360 connection or the semantic layer that power Tableau Next. They perform extremely well for classic dashboard experiences.

    Key Points

    • Industry leading dashboard performance

    • Supports Tableau Plus question and answer and advanced metrics

    • Does not include Data Cloud connection or shared semantic layer

  • CRM Analytics (CRMA)

CRM Analytics is the advanced analytics tool that lives inside Salesforce and supports deep analysis for sales, service, and marketing teams. It uses SAQL for complex visualizations and is very effective when insights need to be pushed into Salesforce actions. It does not include the artificial intelligence agents or the shared semantic layer that come with Tableau Next.

    Key Points

    • Strong for workflows inside Salesforce

    • Uses SAQL for advanced visualizations

    • Great for predictive analysis, but without the intelligent agents in Next
