Join us for an exciting session featuring a live demo of the latest Tableau features, followed by final presentations from our Top 5 competition finalists.
Who Is This Event For?
This event is open to everyone in the Tableau community, with different ways to participate and benefit:
Students – Compete, build portfolio-ready work, sharpen data storytelling skills, attend the live event, and network with professionals
Employers & Hiring Managers – Discover talented, motivated students and connect with emerging data professionals
Industry Professionals – Learn from creative Tableau use cases, support the community, and network with peers
Educators & Mentors – Encourage student participation and see how learners are applying Tableau creatively
Tableau Community Members – Attend the final presentations, get inspired, and engage with the #DataFam
Who Can Participate
ONLY OPEN TO CURRENTLY ENROLLED STUDENTS
Individual entries only
Theme: Food & Drinks!
Dataset Flexibility
Participants are free to:
Find and use any publicly available dataset related to the Food & Drinks theme
Create their own dataset if needed
Combine multiple datasets, as long as the final viz aligns with the theme

What You’ll Build
A Tableau dashboard published on Tableau Public
Strong focus on storytelling, insights, and design
Creative approaches are highly encouraged! Go bold, Go wild!
Judging Criteria
Submissions will be evaluated based on:
Data storytelling and clarity
Visual design and Tableau best practices
Insightfulness and analytical depth
Creativity and originality
Prizes 🎉
The top 5 finalists will present in person on the event day
Exciting prizes including:
Tableau swag
Cash prizes for the top 3 winners

Final Submission Deadline: Mar 22, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET

Submit your Tableau Public link via Google Form: Competition Submission Link
Finalists will be invited to present their work live and compete for prizes, recognition, and bragging rights within the Tableau and #DataFam community.
